4.Industrial Applications (Cable trays, gratings, ladders)

FRP/FGC-based industrial products such as cable trays, gratings, and ladders are designed to replace traditional steel and aluminum in demanding environments. They are lightweight, corrosion-resistant, non-conductive, and maintenance-free, making them ideal for industries exposed to moisture, chemicals, and high-voltage areas.

Unlike steel, GFRP does not rust, making it ideal for marine structures, bridges, coastal projects, chemical plants, and water treatment facilities where exposure to moisture, salts, or chemicals is unavoidable. Their lightweight nature makes them 4x easier to transport, handle, and install, reducing labor costs and improving site efficiency.

Manufacturing

FRP/FGC cable trays, gratings, and ladders are manufactured using the pultrusion process, where continuous glass fibers are drawn through a resin bath and pulled through a heated die to form strong structural profiles. These profiles are then cut and assembled into trays, gratings, or ladder frames. For gratings, molded or pultruded panels are produced by placing fiberglass rovings in a mold, filling them with resin, curing under heat, and then demolding into grid-shaped sheets. Ladders and cable trays are assembled by joining pultruded side rails, rungs, and cross-members using adhesives or mechanical fasteners, ensuring high strength and corrosion resistance. Surface treatments like anti-slip coating, UV protection, and fire retardant additives are applied for enhanced performance.
